TechFlow News: On May 8, according to Bloomberg, U.S. federal judge Amit Mehta rejected Alphabet’s (Google’s parent company) request to pause enforcement of a court order on Thursday local time. Google had been found guilty of illegally monopolizing the online search market and was ordered—pending appeal—to grant competitors access to its underlying search data. The judge stated that because implementing data sharing would take several more months, Google currently faces no immediate risk of harm; thus, its request for a stay was denied.
