TechFlow News, May 4: Countries from around the world—including many with virtually no connection to the current overt and violent conflict in the Middle East—have requested U.S. assistance to release vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. These vessels were caught up in incidents entirely unrelated to them—they are neutral and innocent bystanders! In the interests of Iran, the broader Middle East, and the United States, we have informed these countries that we will safely escort their vessels out of these restricted waters so they may resume their commercial operations freely and smoothly. Let me reiterate: these vessels originate from regions entirely uninvolved in the current Middle Eastern situation. I have directed my representatives to notify them that we will make every effort to ensure the safe passage of their vessels and crews.
All parties have stated they will not return to the area until safe navigation and other necessary conditions are restored. This initiative—dubbed “Project Freedom”—will commence Monday morning (Middle East time). I am fully aware that my representatives are engaged in highly active discussions with Iranian authorities, discussions that could yield very positive outcomes for all involved. The movement of these vessels is solely intended to free individuals, companies, and nations who bear no fault whatsoever—they are victims of circumstance. This is a humanitarian initiative by the United States, Middle Eastern nations—and especially Iran. Many vessels are running critically low on food and other essential supplies, jeopardizing the health and hygiene of large crews. I believe this effort will powerfully demonstrate the goodwill of all those who have worked tirelessly over the past several months. Should this humanitarian operation encounter any interference, such interference would unfortunately necessitate a firm response. (Jinshi)
