TechFlow News, May 2: According to the Financial Times, Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Reform Party, has been accused by opposition parties of a conflict of interest. In 2024, Farage received a £5 million personal donation from cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harborne. Subsequently, in May 2025, the Reform Party introduced a draft regulatory framework for the cryptocurrency industry, proposing to reduce the cryptocurrency transaction stamp duty from 24% to 10%, establish a national Bitcoin reserve, and lower capital gains tax on crypto assets. Farage has acknowledged receiving the aforementioned donation, and the Reform Party stated that its policy formulation is unrelated to donors. Additionally, Harborne donated another £12 million to the party last year, and cryptocurrency entrepreneur Ben Delo donated £4 million this year. Farage currently faces allegations of violating House of Commons rules; in severe cases, he could be suspended from his parliamentary seat, triggering a by-election.
