TechFlow News, April 28: According to The Korea Times, South Korea’s National Tax Service (NTS) announced that since July 2025, it has recovered 33.9 billion KRW (approximately $23 million) in unpaid taxes across borders through cooperation with tax authorities in three countries—accounting for the majority of its total cross-border tax recovery of 37.2 billion KRW since 2015. The NTS currently exchanges information with tax authorities in 163 jurisdictions to track overseas hidden assets. Starting next year, under a new cryptocurrency reporting framework, the NTS will begin receiving virtual asset transaction data from 56 countries; beginning in 2030, it will also exchange information on overseas real estate holdings and transactions.
