TechFlow News, April 23: According to Techstartups, Microsoft had explored acquiring AI-powered coding tool company Cursor but ultimately did not proceed with the deal. Subsequently, SpaceX swiftly secured an option to acquire Cursor at a $60 billion valuation.
Cursor has now become one of the key players in the AI coding space, benefiting from strong developer demand for automated programming and productivity tools. OpenAI and Anthropic are fiercely competing in this domain. Meanwhile, Microsoft faces mounting pressure on another front: its stock price has declined 10% this year, underperforming its peers in the hyperscale data center sector.
