TechFlow reports that on April 21, SlowMist CISO 23pds (@im23pds) disclosed that Anthropic’s Claude Desktop application, upon user installation, silently writes a special file to all Chromium-based browsers on the user’s computer—without the user’s knowledge or consent. This file functions as a pre-authorized backdoor; when combined with a specific browser extension, attackers can gain full control over the user’s browser.
