TechFlow News, April 20: According to CNBC, U.S. Treasury yields edged higher on Monday amid renewed tensions between the United States and Iran. Specifically, the 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4.267%, the 2-year yield climbed to 3.73%, and the 30-year yield remained largely unchanged.
Earlier, Iran announced on Friday that the Strait of Hormuz was fully open to commercial shipping, but then reasserted control over the strait’s passage on Saturday. U.S. President Trump stated that U.S.-Iran negotiations would resume on Monday in Islamabad, Pakistan; however, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said there are currently no plans for a second round of talks with the United States. Investors this week will also monitor crude oil inventory data and initial jobless claims.
