TechFlow News, June 8: South Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated at a press conference marking his first year in office that the South Korean stock market remains undervalued.

Earlier, the KOSPI Index in Seoul plunged as much as 8.8% at the start of Monday’s trading session, triggering a circuit breaker; Samsung Electronics’ share price dropped as much as 10%. Subsequently, the Korea Exchange convened an emergency market assessment meeting, announcing enhanced emergency response measures and intensified monitoring of illegal short-selling and unfair trading practices.

Lee also stated that South Korea will promote AI integration across all industries, prepare large-scale investment projects related to the semiconductor industry, accelerate housing supply in the real estate sector, and increase tax burdens on owners of non-primary residences.
