TechFlow News, April 16: In response to rumors that ByteDance spent nearly RMB 100 million to recruit Guo Daya, a former DeepSeek researcher, Li Liang, Vice President of Douyin, stated that all Seed team technical personnel hired by ByteDance follow the same compensation structure—including cash salary, ByteDance stock options, and Doudou stock options—with all options fully vesting over a four-year period and no conditions attached for full vesting. ByteDance has not recently hired any employee with an annual salary approaching RMB 100 million. The future value of Seed employees’ ByteDance and Doudou stock options fluctuates based on the option price; if the business performs exceptionally well, it is possible some Seed technical staff could realize gains worth hundreds of millions of RMB after four years.
