TechFlow News, April 10: According to the Wall Street Journal, citing mediators and a person familiar with the matter, the Israel-Lebanon talks scheduled for next week in Washington will be preparatory ambassador-level discussions—not higher-level negotiations. Mediators stated that officials attending the talks will include Yechiel Leiter, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States; Nada Hamad Mouawad, Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United States; Michele Taylor, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon; and Simon Karam, Lebanon’s former Ambassador to the United States. On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel would begin direct negotiations with Lebanon, focusing on Hezbollah’s disarmament. He made this statement one day after Trump called him, urging him to scale back strikes against Lebanon amid concerns that such strikes could jeopardize the Iran ceasefire agreement.
