TechFlow news: On April 10, according to the Every Day Economic News, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) will announce the first batch of stablecoin issuer licenses at 5:00 p.m. Subsequently, licensed stablecoin issuers will hold a press conference. Previously, the HKMA completed its final review of the first batch of applications in mid-March 2026 and has now entered the official public announcement preparation phase. The HKMA received a total of 36 applications, and plans to issue 2–3 licenses in this first batch under strict regulatory standards. In early February this year, HKMA Chief Executive Eddie Yue stated that the authority aims to issue Hong Kong’s first batch of stablecoin issuer licenses in March and emphasized: “The number of licenses issued in this first batch will certainly be limited, with prudence as the primary objective.”
