TechFlow News, April 7: Early on the morning of April 7 local time, Iranian sources cited unnamed reports stating that an explosion occurred in the Jubail Industrial City in northeastern Saudi Arabia—a site reportedly subjected to a large-scale attack involving U.S. capital. Jubail Industrial City is one of the world’s key petrochemical production bases, with an annual output of approximately 60 million tons of petrochemical products—accounting for 6% to 8% of global production. The zone hosts numerous major petrochemical enterprises and projects. Among them, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is one of the primary investors in the industrial city. Additionally, the Sadara project—jointly developed by U.S.-based Dow Chemical Company—and the joint venture between Saudi Aramco and France’s TotalEnergies are also located within this industrial zone.
