A U.S. Air Force F-15E “Strike Eagle” two-seat fighter jet was shot down over Iranian airspace on April 3; both crew members ejected safely—its pilot was rescued shortly thereafter, and the second crew member, the weapon systems officer, was also subsequently rescued. U.S. President Donald Trump stated on April 5 that the second crew member was “seriously injured.”
