TechFlow News, April 2, Uniswap founder Hayden Adams (@haydenzadams) commented on the Drift Protocol hack incident on X, stating that centralized projects must stop calling themselves DeFi. He noted that if an admin key can drain all funds, the project is effectively CeFi (Centralized Finance), and otherwise the DeFi brand becomes meaningless. He also emphasized that no version of Uniswap contains an admin key capable of draining funds.
Previously, Omer Goldberg (@omeragoldberg), founder of Chaos Labs, analyzed that Drift Protocol’s signature key has full control over market creation, oracle assignment, and withdrawal limits—without time locks, multi-signature requirements, or delay mechanisms—enabling attackers to steal funds within just 10 seconds.
