TechFlow News: On March 31, according to Titan Media, Hilton recently launched a beta version of its “AI Travel Planner,” a conversational AI tool that delivers personalized itinerary planning for travelers—marking the latest move by an international hotel group to accelerate its AI adoption. In fact, Marriott introduced its AI concierge service RENAI as early as 2023 and, in 2025, entered into an AI strategic partnership with Alibaba. Meanwhile, IHG collaborated with Google Cloud in 2024 to roll out an AI-powered travel planning tool within its IHG One Rewards app.
The accelerating AI adoption among international hotel groups is driven by several factors: domestic hotel management companies (such as Huazhu, Jinjiang, and BTG Homeinns) rapidly capturing market share through AI localization advantages; mounting cost-reduction pressure stemming from a more than 400% rise in labor costs over the past decade; and the growing reliance of younger consumers on AI tools for decision-making—which has led to a loss of direct-booking traffic.
