TechFlow News, March 29: The United States’ European allies have informed U.S. diplomats—both publicly and privately—that Russia is directly and substantially assisting Iran’s wartime operations to a far greater extent than the U.S. is willing to publicly acknowledge. European countries also stated that the war in Ukraine is becoming increasingly intertwined with Iran’s military activities, due to cooperation between Russia and Iran. A British official noted that defense cooperation between Russia and Iran has significantly intensified in recent years, and Iran’s technological advances are now clearly evident in attacks across the Middle East. According to the UK’s assessment, Iran has not only transferred “Shahed” drones to Moscow for use on the battlefield in Ukraine but has also shared production technology with Russia—helping Iran enhance its drone combat capabilities. However, the British official could not confirm whether Russia has recently transferred any hardware to Iran. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot publicly characterized the relationship between Russia and Iran as “two-way cooperation.” (Jinshi)
