TechFlow News, March 28: According to a memorandum released by the White House on March 27, U.S. President Trump declared that the Department of Homeland Security’s shutdown—ongoing for over 40 days—constitutes a “national security emergency.” He directed the Secretary of Homeland Security to coordinate with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to use funds “reasonably related” to the operations of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to pay salaries and benefits to airport security personnel who have not received wages since February.
