TechFlow reports that, as of March 24, Claude now supports controlling users’ computers to complete tasks—including launching applications, browsing the web, and filling out forms—via desktop operations.
This feature is currently available in research preview form within Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and supports macOS only.
Claude will first attempt to invoke connected third-party applications (e.g., Slack, Calendar). When no corresponding connector is available, it will request user authorization before directly interacting with on-screen applications.
Users can issue task commands from their mobile devices and step away while Claude autonomously completes them. Tasks can also be scheduled for recurring execution—for example, scanning emails daily or generating reports every Friday. This feature is currently available to Pro and Max subscribers only.
