Anthropic stated: “The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects the right to set ethical boundaries for one’s own technology without fear of retaliation.” After being designated a “supply chain risk” entity for refusing to remove safety guardrails, Anthropic filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government.
