TechFlow News: On March 5, according to Eleanor Terrett’s disclosure, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has submitted an interpretive document to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), detailing how federal securities laws apply to specific digital assets and related transactions. This move is considered highly significant for the market and is independent of the SEC’s ongoing review of proposed rules on digital asset offerings. An SEC spokesperson stated that the Commission will issue interpretive guidance on the classification of digital asset tokens to clarify regulatory obligations for investors and innovators. After completing interagency review, the guidance document will be subject to a vote by the Commission’s three commissioners.
