TechFlow reports that on March 4, Anthropic announced the launch of Voice Mode for its AI programming assistant, Claude Code, enabling developers to perform hands-free coding via voice commands. This feature is currently rolling out gradually, with approximately 5% of users already having access; broader availability is expected within the coming weeks.
Users can activate Voice Mode by entering the “/voice” command and then issue voice instructions—such as “refactor the authentication middleware”—which Claude Code will execute accordingly.
According to Anthropic’s February report, Claude Code’s run-rate revenue has surpassed $2.5 billion—more than doubling since early 2026—and weekly active users have also doubled since January. Additionally, following the company’s refusal to allow the U.S. Department of Defense to use its AI for domestic surveillance or autonomous weapons, the Claude mobile app experienced significant user growth, briefly surpassing ChatGPT to top the U.S. App Store rankings.
