TechFlow news, January 20 — According to an official announcement, Brevis, a ZK-powered verifiable computing platform, has partnered with stablecoin protocol USD8 to enable trustless DeFi insurance payouts.
As a stablecoin protocol with built-in DeFi insurance, USD8 users accumulate a "Protection Score" based on their time-weighted average holdings. If an insured DeFi protocol (such as Aave, Curve, or Lido) suffers a hack or depegging event, the Protection Score determines whether a user is eligible for compensation from the USD8 protection pool and the corresponding payout ratio.
Through this collaboration, Brevis ProverNet will use zero-knowledge proofs to compute Protection Scores, ensuring results reflect actual conditions without relying on centralized servers. Anyone can independently verify the outcomes, achieving full automation and trustlessness in the payout process. This also avoids Vitalik Buterin's so-called "going-to-sleep test" problem: even if the protocol creators disappear, the protocol continues to operate and fulfill its guarantees.
Brevis and USD8 are currently co-developing this infrastructure layer. USD8 plans to launch a beta version in Q2 2026, when further integration details will also be disclosed.
