Riot Platforms sells 1,080 bitcoins to purchase land for data center development project
According to GlobeNewswire, Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms announced it has sold 1,080 BTC and will use the proceeds of approximately $96 million to purchase land in Rockdale for developing a data center project. Additionally, the company has signed a data center lease and service agreement with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), under which 25 megawatts of critical IT load capacity will be deployed at the Rockdale campus. The initial deployment will be carried out in phases, beginning in January 2026 and completing by May 2026.
