TechFlow news, January 15 — In response to earlier reports suggesting that cryptocurrency data platform CoinGecko was considering a sale at a valuation of approximately $500 million, the company's co-founder and CEO Bobby Ong posted on X stating that he has received numerous inquiries regarding a potential sale. Having operated CoinGecko for 12 years now, like any growing and profitable company, they regularly evaluate strategic opportunities to strengthen the business and accelerate their mission. While no specific acquisition discussions will be commented on at this time, he expressed excitement about possibilities that could better serve users and support institutional adoption of cryptocurrencies. CoinGecko will continue normal operations with no changes to its working methods or the way it provides trusted data.
