TechFlow News, January 12 — According to The Block, Geoffrey Kendrick, Head of Global Digital Asset Research at Standard Chartered, stated that "2026 will be the year of Ethereum," predicting ETH will outperform other cryptocurrencies. Standard Chartered revised its ETH price forecasts, expecting it to reach $7,500 by the end of 2026, $15,000 in 2027, and $22,000 in 2028. The bank also raised its long-term outlook, setting targets of $30,000 by the end of 2029 and $40,000 by the end of 2030.
The report highlights Ethereum's dominance in stablecoins, tokenization of real-world assets, and decentralized finance, along with improvements in network throughput, as key factors supporting ETH's outperformance over BTC. Currently, Ethereum transaction volume is at an all-time high, with stablecoin activity accounting for 35% to 40% of transactions. Standard Chartered forecasts that the market size for stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets will reach $2 trillion by 2028, with the majority of this activity taking place on the Ethereum network.
