TechFlow news, on January 7th, according to an official announcement, Tempo, the payment public blockchain jointly launched by Stripe and Paradigm, has introduced the native token standard TIP-20, specifically designed for stablecoin and payment use cases. TIP-20 extends the Ethereum ERC-20 standard with features such as transfer memos, compliance controls, and reward distribution, and is fully backward compatible.
This standard includes six core functions: native currency identifiers, transfer memos, reward distribution, custom policy registration, operational controls, and role-based access management. TIP-20 can be applied in scenarios such as corporate fund management, cross-border payments, wholesale settlements, and deposit tokens.
Tempo also provides dedicated channels for payment transactions, ensuring high throughput and predictable fees. Any TIP-20 stablecoin denominated in U.S. dollars can be used to pay transaction fees on Tempo.
