TechFlow news, January 6th, according to Jinshi Data, xAI's chatbot "Grok," owned by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, has recently sparked controversy again after users utilized its new image editing feature to generate pornographic content. This chaos quickly triggered public outrage. On the 5th, Thomas Renier, spokesperson for the European Commission responsible for digital economy affairs, responded, stating that they are "seriously investigating" related complaints against "Grok." "Grok has introduced the so-called 'Hot Mode,' which not only displays explicit sexual content but also includes generated content featuring child-like characteristics. This is not 'hot content' at all; it is illegal and shocking. Such things have no place in Europe." On the same day, the UK's cybersecurity regulatory authority, the Communications Authority, stated that it has noted users' concerns regarding the aforementioned feature and has "urgently contacted X (the platform) and xAI to understand the specific measures they have taken to fulfill their legal obligations to protect UK users." Following their response, the authority will determine whether there are "potential compliance issues worthy of investigation." (Xinhua International)
