TechFlow news, On January 3, the first block of Bitcoin—the Genesis Block—was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto at 18:15:05 (UTC) on January 3, 2009 (approximately 02:15 on the morning of January 4, Beijing time), marking the official launch of the Bitcoin network.
The Genesis Block not only contained the first block reward (50 BTC) but also included a news headline quoted from the British newspaper The Times: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks," which translates to "The Times, January 3, 2009: Chancellor on the brink of a second bank bailout." This symbolizes that Bitcoin was born against the backdrop of the financial crisis and is widely interpreted as a critique and symbolic statement of the traditional banking system and bailout policies at the time.
