According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on January 1st, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene recently publicly stated that she voted against the GENIUS Act, citing that the bill would grant regulatory authority over stablecoins to banks and federal agencies while opening the door for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). In contrast, she supports the CLARITY Act, believing it protects the self-custody rights of crypto assets and prevents third parties from freezing or seizing personal assets. Greene warned the American public that if the government promotes digital identities and CBDCs while controlling personal keys, it would severely restrict civil liberties, forcing people to "comply or die." Although the CLARITY Act she supports is stalled in the Senate, the GENIUS Act she opposes has already become law.
