TechFlow news, December 29 — According to Cointelegraph, Ubisoft's popular game Rainbow Six: Siege suffered a severe hacker attack on December 27. Hackers successfully breached the game servers and distributed 2 billion in-game R6 Credits (approximately $13.33 million) to all player accounts. The hackers also took control of the game's messaging and banning systems.
Ubisoft urgently shut down the game servers and marketplace on December 28 and is currently performing data rollback operations. The company stated that players will not be banned for using the illegally obtained in-game currency. The game is now undergoing soft relaunch through a limited player test; the full restart time remains undetermined.
