TechFlow news, on December 26, Evgeny Gaevoy, founder and CEO of Wintermute, posted on social media stating that Wintermute will vote against the current AAVE governance proposal.
Evgeny stated that the current proposal lacks specific details, and it remains unclear how the entity controlling the frontend and brand will be governed, whether it will be for-profit, and how it will operate. He believes token value accrual is the core issue facing AAVE, and there is a clear mismatch in expectations between AAVE Labs and a large number of token holders. Evgeny criticized the politicization surrounding this vote and the excessive criticism directed at AAVE Labs, while also noting that communication from AAVE founder Stani has not been perfect. Wintermute has invested in AAVE since 2022 and participated in its governance. Evgeny hopes AAVE Labs will seriously address the token value accrual issue, which could serve as a reference for other tokens.
