TechFlow news, December 25 — According to CoinDesk, Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has confirmed that a platform named CircleMetals is fake. The platform issued a press release on Christmas Eve (December 24), claiming to offer tokenized gold and silver trading services, using Circle’s branding and quoting its executives.
A Circle spokesperson confirmed to CoinDesk that the platform is entirely fraudulent. The scam platform claimed users could exchange USDC for purported gold tokens (GLDC) and silver tokens (SILC) around the clock, and promised 1.25% rewards in CIRM tokens.
