TechFlow news, on December 18, the Cybersecurity Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security reported on December 17, 2025, that cybersecurity authorities in Qiannan, Guizhou Province, jointly with economic investigation departments, successfully cracked a major virtual currency pyramid scheme case, arresting 15 suspects. The pyramid scheme organization used the slogan "everything in the world with value can be tokenized," established an anonymous trading platform, implemented a multi-tier membership system, attracted participants by inflating virtual currency prices and promising high returns, and encouraged recruiting new members to expand its network. The organization had three or more hierarchical levels and involved thousands of participants. All suspects have been legally prosecuted. The Ministry of Public Security warns the public to be vigilant against virtual currency pyramid schemes disguised as financial innovation.
