TechFlow, December 17 — Ernesto Boado, an early core contributor to Aave and co-founder of BGD Labs, has launched a governance proposal calling for the full ownership and control of Aave's brand assets to be transferred to the DAO governed by AAVE token holders. The proposal covers ownership of domains (such as aave.com), social media accounts, naming rights, and online organizations like GitHub repositories.
The proposal emphasizes that no third party—including service providers—should unilaterally own or control these assets, nor use the "Aave" name for private profit without authorization. Boado argues that clearly defining asset ownership is crucial for Aave's long-term healthy development, and recommends establishing a legal framework to ensure DAO control over these assets and prevent misuse.
