TechFlow news, December 11 — According to CoinDesk, asset management platform Nexo has acquired Argentine crypto investment platform Buenbit; the specific transaction amount was not disclosed. This acquisition aims to deepen Nexo's presence in Latin America, enabling it to operate under Argentina's regulatory framework and access Buenbit's user base in Argentina and Peru. Following the completion of the deal, Buenos Aires will serve as Nexo's Latin American headquarters, supporting its expansion into Mexico and Peru.
Nexo operates in over 150 jurisdictions and manages approximately $11 billion in assets. Buenbit is registered with Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV) and offers fiat-to-crypto services. Additionally, Argentina's central bank is drafting new regulations that aim to allow banks to offer cryptocurrency-related services to customers in the first half of next year.
