TechFlow, December 8 — According to Reuters, U.S. retail trading platform Robinhood Markets will acquire Indonesian securities firm Buana Capital Sekuritas and licensed digital asset exchange Pedagang Aset Kripto. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026, with specific financial terms undisclosed. Pieter Tanuri, majority shareholder of the two Indonesian firms, will continue serving as a strategic advisor to Robinhood.
Indonesia is one of the world's leading countries in cryptocurrency adoption, with over 19 million capital market investors and 17 million cryptocurrency traders. "Indonesia is a rapidly growing trading market and an ideal place to further advance Robinhood's mission of democratizing finance," said Patrick Chan, Head of Asia at Robinhood.
