TechFlow news, on December 6, Pakistan's Ministry of Finance recently hosted a high-level consultation meeting on the national digital asset framework, co-chaired by Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance, and Bilal bin Saqib, Chairman of PVARA. The meeting brought together senior officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, chief executives of major banks, and Binance executives including Global CEO Richard Teng.
The discussion focused on building a secure and transparent digital asset ecosystem, covering topics such as the responsible deployment of on-ramp and off-ramp infrastructure, strengthening compliance standards, and enhancing market transparency. Participants also explored the potential of blockchain technology to reduce Pakistan's annual remittance costs of $38 billion, as well as the possibility of sovereign debt tokenization.
