TechFlow, Dec 2 — According to Reuters, Jan-Oliver Sell, formerly of Coinbase Germany, will serve as CEO of the European Stablecoin Alliance, Floris Lugt, ING's head of digital assets, will be CFO, and Howard Davies, former chairman of UK's NatWest, will serve as chairman. Additionally, BNP Paribas has joined the alliance.
Earlier reports indicated that nine major European banks — ING, Banca Sella, KBC, Danske Bank, DekaBank, UniCredit, SEB, CaixaBank, and Raiffeisen Bank International — announced in September this year their joint launch of a euro-denominated stablecoin project regulated under MiCA, aiming to counter U.S. dominance in digital payments.
