TechFlow news, on November 27, according to Changsha Evening News, the People's Procuratorate of Yuhua District, Changsha City disclosed a "scamming foreigners" fraud case, in which all 11 suspects were convicted. The gang defrauded approximately 340,000 yuan in total.
"Scamming foreigners" evolved from the traditional "pig-butchering scam," specifically targeting foreigners. In March 2024, Liu and Li established a fraud gang in Yuhua District with clear division of labor: eight sales staff pretended to be "female financial elites," identifying foreign male targets on overseas social platforms, and used emotional manipulation tactics to lure victims into investing in virtual currencies through fake platforms.
