TechFlow news, November 18 — According to Ming Pao citing Japan's Kyodo News Agency, Chen Zhi, founder of the "Prince Group" alleged to be the mastermind behind telecommunications fraud operations in Cambodia, owns a luxury residence in Minato Ward, Tokyo.
Real estate information websites in Japan indicate that each unit in the apartment building exceeds 150 square meters. Reports suggest that renting such a unit could cost several million yen per month, with some second-hand units listed for over 1.6 billion yen (approximately 80.34 million HKD).
The report noted that Chen Zhi may be attempting to obtain long-term residency status in Japan through business ventures. U.S. authorities have filed requests to seize approximately 120 billion USD worth of Bitcoin held by Chen Zhi. The massive amount of funds he accumulated through illegal means may have already been funneled into Japan via money laundering and other methods.
The company established by Chen Zhi in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, is named "Prince Group." Its initially registered address was located on a plot adjacent to the Prince Group headquarters tower in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In 2024, it changed its address to a luxury apartment in Kita-Aoyama, Minato Ward. According to local sources in Cambodia, Chen Zhi has visited Japan multiple times.
