TechFlow news, November 16 — Tom Lee, Chairman of BitMine, posted on social media stating that Bitcoin is a volatile asset. His firm first recommended Bitcoin to clients in 2017 with an allocation of 1%-2%, when BTC was priced at approximately $1,000.
Over the past 8.5 years, BTC has experienced six drawdowns exceeding 50% and three drawdowns exceeding 75%. As of 2025, Bitcoin has risen 100-fold since its initial recommendation.
Tom Lee pointed out that to benefit from this 100-fold supercycle, investors must hold through critical moments. He explained that cryptocurrency prices reflect immense expectations about the future, and skepticism therefore creates volatility. Tom Lee believes ETH is now entering a similar supercycle, but emphasized that the upward trajectory will not be linear.
