TechFlow news, November 16 — According to Theblock, the U.S. Department of Justice disclosed that it has filed a motion to seize $15.1 million worth of USDT stablecoins traced back to cyberattacks conducted in 2023 by North Korea's military-linked hacking group APT38 against four overseas cryptocurrency platforms. The FBI seized the funds in March 2025 and is now seeking court approval to return the assets to victims.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice announced that five individuals—including four U.S. citizens and one Ukrainian national—have entered guilty pleas for aiding North Korean IT workers in fraudulently obtaining employment opportunities at U.S. companies by providing stolen identities and laptop services for shell companies. The scheme reportedly affected over 136 American companies and generated more than $2.2 million in revenue for North Korea.
