TechFlow news, November 13 — According to Jinshi Data, on Wednesday local time, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass a funding bill that reinstates funding for food assistance programs suspended during the shutdown, provides back pay for hundreds of thousands of federal employees, and restores normal operations of the air traffic control system. With the House approving the bill by a vote of 222 to 209, the record-breaking 43-day partial shutdown of the U.S. federal government is set to officially end, despite ongoing disputes between the two parties over federal healthcare subsidies. The bill will now be sent to U.S. President Trump for signature. Trump's support largely held Republican unity together in Wednesday's House vote, which faced strong opposition from Democrats. Democrats expressed anger that their colleagues in the Senate failed to reach an agreement extending federal Medicare subsidies during prolonged standoffs. The Senate had previously passed the bill, though with both parties blaming each other, neither appeared to claim a clear victory. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found that 50% of Americans blame Republicans for the government shutdown, while 47% blame Democrats.
