TechFlow news, November 11 — According to foreign media reports, an EU spokesperson stated that the European Union will not abandon enforcing its digital rules on artificial intelligence and data privacy. The statement came just days before the European Commission is set to propose new amendments to these regulations. The EU is working to streamline a series of corporate regulations to make them easier for companies to comply with, ultimately enhancing the EU's attractiveness as an investment destination. In recent days, leaked draft plans suggesting AI developers could have leeway to use personal data under EU data protection rules have drawn criticism from privacy advocates, who argue the changes would cede power to large U.S. tech groups. EU Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier said: "The U.S. will not decide our simplification agenda. Legislation is our sovereign right." (Jinshi)
