TechFlow, on November 11, according to Caixin News, John O'Neill, Head of Digital Assets and Currencies at HSBC, announced that the total trading volume of the RWA tokenized product "HSBC Gold Token" launched for retail investors in Hong Kong has exceeded 1 billion USD, with over 100,000 transactions.
It is reported that the HSBC Gold Token is currently the only retail gold token recognized by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong. Priced in Hong Kong dollars, it has become the world's third-largest gold token product. Each HSBC Gold Token represents a fractional ownership record of 0.001 troy ounce of London LocO bullion designated by the London Bullion Market Association. Transactions do not involve physical delivery of gold, which is held and stored by HSBC in vault facilities operated by vault operators in England and Wales.
