TechFlow news, November 9 — According to Jinshi Data, internal documents from Meta Platforms (META.O) reveal that around 10% of the company's revenue in 2024—approximately $16 billion—came from scam ads and ads for prohibited goods, highlighting significant gaps in its advertising oversight. The internal report shows that the social media giant has failed for at least the past three years to detect and block large volumes of non-compliant ads, exposing billions of users across its platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to investment scams, online gambling, banned medical products, and other harmful content. Internal estimates suggest the platform delivers as many as 15 billion scam ads to users daily.
