TechFlow, on November 7, according to the Wall Street Journal, sources said Senate Majority Leader Thune told Senate Republicans on Thursday that they would likely vote on a new proposal aimed at ending the government shutdown on Friday, as Republican leaders hope to build momentum toward an agreement. However, Democrats have indicated they oppose the proposal, with some saying they need to include their key demand of extending Affordable Care Act subsidies in any legislation. The plan for a vote on the revised proposal comes as the impacts of the government shutdown continue to grow. The proposal would combine a short-term spending measure with three full-year appropriations bills covering the legislative branch, agriculture, military construction, and veterans affairs. It remains unclear whether the temporary measure is intended to fund the government through mid-December or into January. How the Democratic priority—Affordable Care Act subsidies—will be included in the revised package remains uncertain. (Jinshi)
