TechFlow news, November 6 — Residents in Hood County, Texas failed to pass a vote aimed at regulating noise from a local Bitcoin mining facility by establishing a new municipality called "Mitchell Bend," with only 38% of voters in support, according to Cointelegraph. Around 600 local residents have suffered for years from noise caused by 60,000 Bitcoin mining rigs operated by MARA, leading to health issues such as insomnia and headaches. Although MARA has expanded sound barriers and partially adopted liquid cooling systems, the noise problem remains unresolved.
