TechFlow, November 5 — According to The Block, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated at Tuesday's press briefing that the pardon of Binance founder Changpeng Zhao underwent standard review procedures before reaching President Trump’s desk for final approval.
Leavitt emphasized the process was handled with "extreme seriousness," saying, "We have a very thorough review process. In coordination with the Department of Justice and the Office of the White House Counsel, a full team of qualified lawyers reviews every single pardon request ultimately submitted to the President of the United States."
Trump previously defended the pardon decision in an interview with CBS News' 60 Minutes, claiming he does not know CZ and calling the prosecution "Biden political persecution." Leavitt clarified that Trump's remarks were meant to indicate he has no personal relationship with Zhao.
