TechFlow news, November 4 — OpenAI has agreed to pay Amazon $38 billion in computing services fees over a seven-year deal, marking the first collaboration between the AI startup and the cloud computing giant. Amazon expects all computing capacity to be available for OpenAI by the end of next year, enabling OpenAI to rapidly access NVIDIA's high-performance chips deployed in Amazon's data centers. While smaller in scale compared to OpenAI's previous contracts with other cloud giants, this partnership holds significant strategic importance for Amazon, representing a crucial first step in its efforts to benefit from the "AI computing power race." To date, OpenAI has signed nearly $600 billion in new cloud service agreements with Oracle, Microsoft, and Amazon. Earlier this year, OpenAI also reached a cloud computing agreement with Google, though the financial details have not been disclosed. OpenAI is projected to generate $13 billion in revenue this year.
